The API Pimafix provides anti-fungal treatment for your pet fish that has been affected by cotton mount, cotton fin, body fungus, fin reddening, body reddening, internal bacterial infections and external bacterial infections.
In order to use this product correctly, you need to dose daily until whatever your fish is suffering from goes away.

How much Pimafix should you add per gallon?
When it comes to Pimafix, API recommends that you add 5 mL of the solution for every 10 gallons of tank water.
Below, you can check out the recommended dosage for the most common tank sizes, in gallons, for this product:
- 2.5-gallon tank: dose 1.25 mL
- 5-gallon tank: dose 2.5 mL
- 10-gallon tank: dose 5 mL
- 15-gallon tank: dose 7.5 mL
- 20-gallon tan: dose 10 mL
- 25-gallon tank: dose 12.5 mL
- 29-gallon tank: dose 14.5 mL
- 30-gallon tank: dose 15 mL
- 40-gallon tank: dose 20 mL
- 50-gallon tank: dose 25 mL
- 55-gallon tank: dose 27.5 mL
- 65-gallon tank: dose 32.5 mL
- 75-gallon tank: dose 37.5 mL
- 90-gallon tank: dose 45 mL

If your tank size doesn’t appear in the list, then you can multiply 0.5 mL of Pimafix by every gallon of tank water to get the recommended dosage amount.
One factor that you may want to take into consideration is the amount of empty space you have in your fish tank. If the water isn’t filled completely to the top, then you multiply the length, width and height of the empty space in inches.
One gallon of water is the same as 231 cubic inches; therefore, you can try subtracting that amount from your tank water calculations.
Furthermore, you may also want to consider the non-water objects in your tank, which include the substrate, rocks, decors and aquarium equipment.
One gallon of fish tank water is around 8.3 pounds; thus, you may want to use it in calculating the water volume.
How much Pimafix should you add per liter?
If you are using liter to measure the water volume, then API recommends that you dose 5 mL of Pimafix for every 38 liters.

- 10-liter tank: dose 1.3 mL
- 20-liter tank: dose 2.6 mL
- 38-liter tank: dose 5 mL
- 40-liter tank: dose 5.2 mL

- 100-liter tank: dose 13 mL
- 116-liter tank: dose 15.08 mL
- 120-liter tank: dose 15.6 mL
- 160-liter tank: dose 20.8 mL
- 200-liter tank: dose 26 mL
- 220-liter tank: dose 28.6 mL
- 260-liter tank: dose 33.8 mL
- 300-liter tank: dose 39 mL
- 360-liter tank: dose 46.8 mL
- 500-liter tank: dose 65 mL

If you tank size isn’t shown in the aforementioned list, then you can multiply 0.13 mL by every liter of tank water in your aquarium in order to get the correct Pimafix dosage amount.
As we stated above, you might want to take into account any empty space and/or spaces that have been occupied by non-water objects in your aquarium when calculating the water volume in your fish tank.
When starting the dosing regime, make sure you also do a 25% water change after every 7th day. Otherwise, you may risk harming your fish as Pimafix will buildup in your aquarium if you don’t swap out old tank water for new water.
You should also make sure that you aren’t doing too much of a water change or you may make Pimafix less effective due to excessive dilution. Having activated carbon in your filter will also make this product ineffective when it comes to treating your sick pet fish.
