The main feature of this heater is that has a preset temperature of around 78 degrees Fahrenheit (or 25.6 Celsius). The temperature could vary by 2 degrees Fahrenheit in either direction. What we loved most about the Uniclife Preset Submersible Aquarium Heater is its simplicity. You only have to plug it in and the device will take care of the rest.
The temperature range of 76 degrees Fahrenheit (or 24.4 Celsius) to 80 degrees Fahrenheit (or 26.7 Celsius) is good enough for a vast majority of common fish you find in the aquarium hobby, including the Cherry Barb, Corydora, Gourami, Guppy, Molly, Platy, Pleco, Neon Tetra, Swordtail and more.
Cons
The one issue we have is that you can’t adjust the temperature. So, unless you unplug the heater, the temperature will stay between 76 °F (or 24.4 °C) to 80 °F (or 26.7 °C).
You may need to lower the temperature in some instances such as trying to get your Corydoras to breed. You can also want to raise the temperature beyond 80 °F (or 26.7 °C) to treat an illness such as Ich.
How to set up the Uniclife Preset Submersible Aquarium Heater
You can take the following steps to adding this heater to your fish tank:
- Before putting the Uniclife Preset Heater in your fish tank, make sure to thoroughly rinse the product to get rid of any dust and other containments.
- After the rinse you can put the heater in your fish tank. You can position it vertically or horizontally. If you haven’t read our heater guide, we recommend the horizontal position as it will heat your aquarium more efficiently. We also suggest putting the heater close to the intake of your filter so that the heat will dissipate into the water column a lot faster tanks to the fast-moving current.
