Is the AQUANEAT Aquarium Airline Tubing worth it?

If you are looking for an airline tubing that you can use for your air pump, air stone and/or sponge filter, then you may have found the AQUANEAT brand during your research. So, is this product any good when it comes to sending air into your fish tank?

You can find out in this review article from Aquarium Blueprints.

Packaging

The AQUANEAT Aquarium Airline Tubing comes in a rather discreet black bag packaging. You can find a picture of it below:

Material

The airline is made of silicone. We prefer using this material as opposed to plastic as it is more flexible, which makes it easier to fit in the inlets and outlets of the air pump, air stone and sponge filter.

Diameter

The AQUANEAT Aquarium Airline Tubing has a diameter of 3/16 inch, which is the standard length used by most air pumps, air stones sponge filters.

Color Variations

This product comes in three color variations as you can pick between Blue, Green or Clear.

The Blue version is better suited for marine fish tanks or aquariums that have a blue background.

On the other hand, Green should blend in better in planted tanks or aquariums that use a green background.

We decide to get the transparent version. Although it may not look transparent out of water, the airline becomes clearer when it is underwater.

Length

The AQUANEAT Aquarium Airline Tubing can be bought at both 25 feet or 40 feet increments. It can easily be cut to shorter lengths via standard scissors.

What we like about AQUANEAT Aquarium Airline Tubing

What we like most about the AQUANEAT airline tubing is that it is made of silicone, which makes it very flexible. As a result, you will easily be able to fit the end of the tubing line into an inlet or outlet.

We previously used a plastic airline, which is a lot stiffer. Not to mention that the opening of the plastic will remain permanently protruded, making it difficult fitting the tubing to an inlet or outlet if you constantly need to unplug and re-plug it.

For how much you get, we find the price of the AQUANEAT tubing to be quite affordable as well.

What we don’t like about AQUANEAT Aquarium Airline Tubing

The AQUANEAT Aquarium Airline Tubing gives off an initial smell that can be quite noticeable. Fortunately, this will dissipate after around a day.

While the silicone is great at staying attacked to an inlet and outlet, it does take quite a bit of effort to remove from the inlet or outlet. You mostly like need to use two hands with one holding the attached device and the other pulling the tubing out of it.

Recap

We found the AQUANEAT Aquarium Airline Tubing to be a great product. Its silicone material makes it easier and durable when compared to plastic tubing. You also get a generous amount compared to how much you pay for.

So, if you are looking for a cheap and effective way to use attach an air pump to an air stone and/or sponge filter, then we recommend using this product.
