You can adjust the temperature by using the temperature level located at the top of the heater.

How to reset the Fluval E Series ceramic heater core
If you want to reset the ceramic heater core part, which is responsible for heating the tank water, of your E Series, then you can try doing the following:
1. To start off, you need to unplug the power plug of your E50, E100, E200 or E300 from the power outlet.
2. Next, we recommend that you wait at least 30 minutes. This will allow the ceramic heater core to naturally cool down to the same temperature as your tank water.
3. After waiting for at least half an hour, the ceramic heater core should be reset.
At this point, you can plug its power cord back into the power outlet so that you can use the device again in your fish tank.
You can also leave the heater unplugged and then take it out of the tank water without having to worry about damaging the device.
If you forgot to unplug the heater and wait for at least 30 minutes before taking it out of the tank, then we recommend taking the following steps to properly reset the ceramic heater core:
1. Unplug the heater’s power plug from the power outlet as soon as possible if you haven’t done so already.
2. Next, we recommend that you let the heater sit out in open air for at least 60 minutes in order to reset the core.
3. After one hour has passed, you can put the heater back into the aquarium again if you want to.
4. If you want to use the heater again, then make sure that you let it sit in your tank water for at least 20 minutes. This will allow the ceramic heater core to naturally adjust to the water temperature in your fish tank.
5. After waiting 20 minutes, you can plug your E50, E100, E200 or E300 back into the power outlet.
