The Seachem Cupramine can be used to treat Ich and Velvet in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. So, how much of this solution should you dose in your fish tank> You can find out in this dosage calculator article at Aquarium Blueprints.
How to calculate the water volume of your fish tank
It is very important to know the water volume of your aquarium. If you forgot the exact amount that have been advertised, then you can measure the length, height and width of the tank by inches. When measuring the height, make sure you only measure to the top of the water surface (you should not measure all the way to the top of your fish tank).
After measuring, you need to multiply the length by height by width to get the cubic inches. 1 gallon of water is the equivalent of 231 cubic inches; therefore, you need to divide the cubic inches by 231 to get the number of gallons inside your aquarium.
If you want to use the liters measurement, then 1 gallon on water is approximately 3.785 liters.
One factor you may want to consider is the non-water objects in your tank, which includes the substrate and décor. 1 gallon of water is around 8 pounds. So, you may want to try weighing the other objects and then convert the weight to gallons. Afterwards, you can subtract that amount from your tank water volume.
Official Cupramine Dosage Instructions
According to Seachem, you need to dose 0.5 mL of Cupramine for every 10.5 gallons of tank water in a freshwater aquarium. If you are using liters to measure your tank water, then you need to add 0.5 mL of Cupramine for every 40 liters for a freshwater aquarium.
When it comes to saltwater, you need to add 1 mL for every 10.5 mL of Cupramire for every 10.5 gallons or 40 liters of tank water.
How much Cupramine should you dose per gallon in freshwater?
To calculate how much Seachem Cupramine you should dose on a freshwater tank, then you need to multiply 0.0475 mL by the number of gallons in your fish tank.
