What’s the difference between Bacter AE and Shrimp Baby?

Glas Garten has two food products that are highly recommended when it comes to feeding your juvenile Caridina and/or Neocaridina shrimps. So, what are the main differences between Bacter AE and Shrimp Baby?

You can find out in this comparison guide at Aquarium Blueprints.

Quick Summary

Glas Garten Bacter AE should be used as a supplementary food as it promotes biofilm growth, which will provide proteins and probiotic digestive bacteria.

The Glas Garten Shrimp Baby Food should be your primary food source as it comes with a lot of proteins in addition to essential minerals and vitamins. It also features a color-enhancing additive.

So, if you can only get one of these products, then we recommend getting the Shrimp Baby Food as it provides a more complete meal for both your juvenile and adult shrimps.

If you are having a hard time keeping your baby and/or adult shrimps alive, then the extra coverage of the Bacter AE, which should grow biofilm all over your tank, should be able to increase the survival rates.

Both products actually complement each other quite well. So, we recommend getting both if possible and then alternating between these foods to your pets.

We suggest setting up a feeding schedule like feeding Glas Garten Shrimp Baby Food on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday while adding Glas Garten Bacter AE Micro Powder Water Additive on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
